Enhanced Shift Action Options in My Shifts

1. Manage Accept/Reject Shift in My Shifts

How to Configure the Accept/Reject Button in the Staff Portal?

To enhance operational control, agency staff can manage shift acceptance and rejection permissions for members within the Workforce App. This functionality is governed by shift status, ensuring members can take appropriate actions in line with permissions set by agency staff.

Within the Accept/Reject screen of My Shifts, agency staff can block members from performing shift actions when the shift status is:

  • Member Assigned
  • Member Broadcast
  • Member Offered
  • Client Confirmed

To block members from performing shift actions based on the Shift Status, new settings are added in the Configure New Client Portal Web App Master and Client Level Settings of the Staff Portal. These settings will enable agency staff to block members from accepting or rejecting shifts based on shift status.

To block members from  performing shift actions based on the shift status:

  • Go to Masters Client Master Configure New Client Web App Settings Workforce App tab

Note that the 'Other' tab is renamed to 'Workforce App' in Configure New Client Web App Settings and Client Level Settings.

  • A new setting, "My Shift" - block members from performing shift actions based on shift status' is added as shown in the figure below. When this flag is set to YES, you can block shift actions for the Member Assigned,  Member Broadcast, Client Confirmed, and Member Offered Shift Status:
    • When the Accept Shift checkbox is selected - members are not allowed to Accept shifts

For the shift status with the Accept Shift checkbox selected, the Accept button will not be visible in the Workforce App, thereby preventing members from accepting those shifts

    • Similarly, when the Reject Shift checkbox is selected - members are not allowed to Reject shifts

For the shift status with the Reject Shift checkbox selected, the Reject button will not be visible in the Workforce App, thereby preventing members from rejecting those shifts
  • When the Accept/ Reject Shift checkbox(es) is selected, click Save

By default, this flag is set to 'NO', indicating no shift action is blocked for members.

Shift Action - Master-1

  • Similarly, at the Client Level setting, you can block shift actions from performing Accept or Reject actions based on the selected Shift Status

Note that the Apply Client Level settings with the flag set to ‘YES’ will override the defined settings in the Global Master Level settings.

How are Accept and Reject Buttons displayed in the Workforce App?

Based on the configuration settings in the Global Master Level and Client Level settings (as explained above), the Accept and Reject buttons are displayed in the Accept/ Reject screen of the My Shifts. The Accept/Reject button will be displayed based on the configured settings when the shift status is Member Assigned,  Member Broadcast, Client Confirmed, and Member Offered.

Let us understand this with the help of examples and figures shown below. Based on the configuration settings in the Global Master Level and Client Level settings:

  • When the 'Accept Shift' checkbox is selected for the Assigned Shift Status in the Staff Portal, the Accept button will not be displayed on the Accept/Reject screen of My Shifts

  • When the 'Reject Shift' checkbox is selected for the Client Confirmed Shift Status in the Staff Portal, the Reject button will not be displayed on the Accept/Reject screen of My Shifts
Assigned Shift - Reject-1 Client Confirmed - Accept-1
  • When the 'Accept Shift' checkbox is selected for the Member Broadcast Shift Status in the Staff Portal, the Accept button will not be displayed on the Accept/Reject screen of My Shifts
  • When the 'Accept Shift' and 'Reject Shift' checkboxes are selected for the Member Offered Shift Status in the Staff Portal, the Accept and Reject buttons will not be displayed on the Accept/Reject screen of My Shifts
Shift Broadcast - Reject-1 Shift Offered - None-1

2. Call Icon for Agency Contact in My Shifts

A new call icon is added in the Shift Accept/Reject screen within My Shifts. This feature allows members to conveniently initiate a call directly from this screen to address any inquiries related to the shift.

The call icon will be displayed when a valid agency phone number is provided in the Application Settings of the Staff Portal as shown in the figure below. If the phone number is not available, the call icon will not appear.

Main Switch Number

On tapping the call icon, the device's phone dialler will launch automatically, with the pre-populated agency's phone number, allowing the user to initiate a call directly.
