Service Rates

The Service Rates report displays Shift and Allowance payrates connected to the selected rate table, the are several filters and report options that can be used to filter the results of the report.

Purpose

The Service Rates Report provides a comprehensive overview of all charge (billing) and pay (member) rates configured within a specific rate table (e.g. “Aged Care 1”).
It allows users to view and validate rates by qualification, shift type, and allowance type, ensuring billing accuracy and compliance with client agreements and award structures.

This report is commonly used by:

  • Payroll teams to verify pay rates.

  • Finance teams to confirm charge rates for invoicing.

  • Implementation and Auditing teams to review rate configurations for clients or service locations.

Report Filter Breakdown

Field Description
Service Location Select the location or site under a specific client where the service rates apply (e.g. “Aged Care 1,” “Melbourne Hospital”).
Rate Table Mandatory field. Selects the rate table being reported on (e.g. “Aged Care 1,” “Industrial Labour,” “NDIS Support”). Defines the set of shift and allowance rates to display.
Qualification Optional. Filters results to a specific qualification (e.g. RN, AIN, Labourer, PCA).
Expertise Optional. Allows further filtering within the selected qualification (e.g. “Enrolled Nurse – Medication Endorsed”).
Pay Level Optional. Selects a specific pay level within the qualification (e.g. Level 1, CWL2).
Rates Determines what type of rates the report will display:

  • Shift Rates: Displays hourly or daily rates for each shift type and day of the week.

  • Allowance Rates: Displays additional allowance values (e.g. On Call, Travel, Sleepover). |

  • Product Numbers: Displays the related product codes (used for linking with invoices or payroll exports). |

1. Shift Rates Section

Title:

Purpose:

Displays all pay or charge rates per qualification, pay level, and shift type for each day of the week.

Columns Explained

Column Description
Qualification The qualification or job title the rates apply to (e.g. Assistant in Nursing, Enrolled Nurse).
Pay Level The level or classification for the qualification (e.g. EN-CS-L1, RN-CS-L2).
Shift The shift type (AM, PM, NS).
Period Indicates the billing period type — generally “HOUR” for hourly rates.
Mon–Sun The applicable rate for each day of the week. Can differ based on weekday/weekend penalty rates.
PH/Weekday, PH/Weekend Public Holiday rate variations for weekdays or weekends.
Base Rate The standard hourly rate before penalties or loadings.

Example Interpretation

In your image:

  • Assistant in Nursing (AIN):

    • Monday to Friday: $60.00/hour

    • Saturday & Sunday: $60.00/hour

    • Public Holidays: $0.00 (not defined in this table)

  • Enrolled Nurse (EN):

    • Multiple levels (L1, L2) with rates varying by shift and day.

    • Example: EN-CS-L1 AM shift = $32.67 Monday–Friday, $39.20 Sunday.

This provides a complete weekday/weekend and shift-based structure of rates.

2. Allowance Rates Section

Title:
Allowance Rates Report

Purpose:

Displays the additional allowances applied to shifts, usually linked to specific qualifications or conditions.

Columns Explained

Column Description
Qualification Role or classification linked to the allowance.
Allowance Type Type of allowance (e.g. On Call, Meal Allowance, Sleepover).
Period Frequency of the allowance (e.g. “HOUR,” “DAY,” or “EACH”).
Mon–Sun Allowance rate amounts applicable per day.
PH/Weekday, PH/Weekend Allowance rate for public holidays.

Example Interpretation

In your sample:

  • Allowance Type: “ON CALL”

    • Monday–Friday: $25.00

    • Saturday–Sunday: $25.00

    • Public Holiday: $25.00

This shows consistent allowance payments across all days for the selected qualification.

3. Report Structure Summary

Section Description
Header Includes report title, rate table name, and rate type.
Shift Rates Lists all standard and penalty rates by qualification and shift type.
Allowance Rates Lists supplementary payments or loadings.
Footnotes (if applicable) May include terms of trade or additional remarks.
