Rostering with NDIS Product Line Items:
When it comes to rostering with line items in our system, you have two main approaches to choose from: Using Delivery or Using Expertise. Each method allows you to effectively manage and allocate your resources based on the specific needs of your clients. Below, we’ll explain these options in more detail to help you decide which method best suits your rostering requirements.
1. Using Delivery
Overview: The "Using Delivery" method focuses on categorizing and managing line items based on the type of delivery or service you are providing. This is particularly useful when your line items are associated with specific deliverables that need to be tracked and managed at the client level.
Steps:
- Enter Delivery Information: For each line item you facilitate, enter the delivery details under the corresponding client. This could be under categories such as "Service" or "Admin and Service," depending on the nature of the line item.
- Booking Process: When scheduling or booking services, ensure that you select the appropriate delivery information. This ensures that all your line items are correctly allocated under the respective client, making tracking and reporting more straightforward.
Advantages:
- Client-Specific Tracking: This method allows you to track all deliverables specific to a client, making it easier to manage client expectations and monitor progress.
- Organized Rostering: By categorizing line items based on delivery, you maintain a well-organized system, especially when dealing with multiple clients.
- Invoice Formatting: You are able to format by Delivery so if you wanted separate line items on different invoices this is more effective
Overview: The "Using Expertise" method categorizes line items based on the specific expertise or skill set required for each task. This approach is particularly useful when you prefer not to map line items to individual clients, as it allows the expertise to be universally available across all clients based on the selected qualifications.
Steps:
- Enter Expertise Information: First, input the relevant expertise for each line item into the master record. Then, map this expertise to each member who is qualified to handle it.
- Booking Process: When scheduling services, ensure that the correct expertise is entered, which will allow the line item to be accessible to all relevant clients.
Advantages:
- Reduced Data Entry: This method minimizes the need for repetitive data entry against individual clients, streamlining the process.
- Consistency Across Clients: By linking expertise to line items universally, you maintain consistency and ensure that resources are properly matched to tasks across all clients.
Disadvantages:
- Member Mapping: If a team member is not mapped to the required expertise, they will be unable to view or take on the relevant shifts.
- Invoice Formatting Limitations: If you need to invoice based on specific product line types, this method may not allow for such detailed formatting.
Which Method Should You Choose?
The choice between Using Delivery and Using Expertise depends on your specific rostering needs:
- Use Delivery if your primary focus is on managing and tracking the specific services or deliverables for each client.
- Use Expertise if your rostering decisions are primarily driven by the need to allocate specific skills or expertise to the right tasks.
Both methods offer structured approaches to managing your line items, helping you optimize your resource allocation and improve overall efficiency. Choose the one that aligns best with your operational needs and client expectations.

Overview: While Entire OnHire provides a workaround for Supported Independent Living (SIL) rostering, it's important to note that manual effort is involved in the process.
Steps for SIL Rostering Workaround:
To properly invoice for Supported Independent Living (SIL) shifts, it is necessary for your allocators to divide the shift into three separate shifts that occur consecutively. Additionally, make sure that the delivery location includes the participant's name so that it is clear that the shifts took place at the same location but with three different participants. Once you have done this, you can create the invoices accordingly.Budgeting Considerations:
Overview: It's important to be aware that Entire OnHire currently does not offer built-in budgeting features.
Considerations for Budgeting:
- Utilize External Budgeting Tools:
- Explore third-party budgeting tools.
- Keep these tools updated with relevant data to monitor and control expenditures effectively.
- Please not that Entire OnHire does not integrate with any other budgeting softwares.
By following these guidelines, users can optimize their experience with Entire OnHire, ensuring efficient NDIS invoicing, compliant shift notes, and rostering with the provided workarounds.
