Updated Weekly Overtime Condition in Awards
The Weekly Overtime Worked Hours Conditions calculations are revised in the Awards Setting to ensure compliance with the Fair Work Award regulations.
The revised Weekly Overtime calculations are explained below:
-
All hours worked beyond the weekly normal hours set threshold (e.g., 38 hours) are calculated as follows (assuming the OT condition is set as per the below figure):
-
The initial 2 hours are 'O1'
-
Additional hours exceeding these initial 2 hours are classified as 'O2'
-
-
Overtime hours classified due to Single Day Overtime will also be updated to 'O2', along with normal hours, when:
-
The standard weekly hours (e.g., 35 hours) have reached
The initial 2 hours ('O1') of weekly OT are allocated to the standard hours
-
Note:
- The overtime functionality of excluding the shift types that are award exempt from overtime calculation will remain unchanged. According to ATO documentation, single-day overtime and weekly overtime will not apply to sleepover shifts
-
If a shift is designated as a Sleepover shift (nominated in the Shift Type Master), the weekly overtime will not apply to such shifts, regardless of whether the shift type is exempt from award conditions or not
-
If overtime occurs and the shift type is designated as award exempt, it will not be included in the calculation for single day or weekly normal hours
The revised Weekly Overtime calculations are applied when the 'Prefer Weekly Overtime Rules Once Single Day Overtime Applies' flag is enabled, and this flag is set to OFF by default.
